Calling all young writers: Here’s a writing conference just for you. Have you ever imagined yourself as a published author, attending book signings, and autographing your own book? The Anchorage School District, in partnership with Alaska Writers Guild, is sponsoring a Young Writers Conference for middle and high school students who are interested in improving their writing and becoming a published author. The purpose of the Young Writers Conference is to afford each interested student the opportunity to meet Alaskan authors and have experiences with creating their own writing.

Time: 9 AM to 2 PM
Where: Clark Middle School
Who: 6th Grade, Middle, and High School Students
What: Courses taught by Alaskan writing experts and published authors.
Why: To help young writers become published authors.

Young Writers Conference Schedule
8:45AM to 9:00AM: Registration
9AM to 10:10AM: Published Author Session A
10:10AM to 10:20AM: Young Writers move to next class.
10:20AM to 11:30AM: Published Author Session B
11:30AM to 12:30PM: Pizza Lunch & Keynote Speaker
12:30PM to 12:40PM: Young Writers move to next class.
12:40PM to 1:50PM: Published Author Session C
Participating Young Writers will have the opportunity to attend three sessions; one session with three different writing experts or published authors.
