Elyse Guttenberg transported herself from New York to Fairbanks, Alaska when she was in her 20’s, and has been living and writing there ever since. She received a Fellowship in Literature from the Alaska State Council on the Arts, as well as an Initiative Award to produce INROADS, AN ANTHOLOGY CELEBRATING ALASKA’S FELLOWSHIP WRITERS.
Her first novel SUNDER, ECLIPSE AND SEED, published by ROC/New American Library (1990) received honorary mention for Best First Fantasy from the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts. SUMMER LIGHT published by HarperCollins (1995) and DAUGHTER OF THE SHAMAN (1997) are prehistories set on the northwest coast of Alaska, 2000 years ago. Her newest fantasy, THE POWER WE SHARE, will be available in 2020.
