November Program: National Novel Writing Month

  • 28 Oct 2020
  • 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Online via Zoom http://bit.ly/AWGNov2020

Join AWG for our November program (taking place just a little early this year in Octoer) with Nancy Clark and Genevieve Beloin: " National Novel Writing Month" This year, the annual event will be online only. Whether you're a seasoned participant, or interested in trying it out for the first time, this webinar will help you know what to expect and give you best practices for success.

Nancy Clark is a librarian and manager of the Chugiak-Eagle River Library who loves to promote writers, writing, and opportunities for readers to meet their favorite authors. While as-yet-unpublished in fiction, she has won the Staff Choice Award for poetry in Pacific Lutheran University’s Saxifrage, published nonfiction in PNLA Quarterly and The Echo magazine, and is the winner of the 2019 Melody of Love award for contemporary romance. She has moderated author panels and given presentations for the Anchorage Museum, Anchorage Public Library, Alaska Library Association annual conference, and Alaska Writers Guild Writers Conference and monthly meetings.

Genevieve Beloin exercises her aptitude for writing through many outlets. As a designer, she uses project narratives to describe the function and form of buildings before they are built. As a freelancer, she assists clients with crafting unique resumes and professional biographies. On her own time, she composes think pieces for online forums like Medium and Thought Catalog. Every November, Genevieve enjoys participating in the National Novel Writing Month challenge and looks forward to being able to engage with the local writing community. This year will be her 4th year as the Anchorage Area Municipal Liaison. She has experience presenting at designer showcase events hosted by the Anchorage Museum and has also spoken at STEM awareness seminars for local middle and high schools. Above all, Genevieve loves to devote time to being a resource for budding writers and advocating for communities like NaNoWriMo.
