Alaska Writers Conference

September 9, 10, & 11

The AWG's 2011 Annual Writers Conference began on Thursday, Sept 8 with 45 guests touring AT Publishing and Printing. It provided an opportunity to watch and learn about the process of book printing.We are grateful to Pat Foster, Dana Hahn and Paul Martone for being such gracious hosts.


              Silent Auction                               Live Art Auction

     From Friday through Sunday attendees were treated to classroom programs focusing on a variety of writing topics and issues at the International Coastal Inn. The Conference also included two panel discussions (the first held Sat. night at the Loussac Library, commemorating the Loussac's 25th Anniversary), a silent auction, an art auction, the sale of many books, great food and drink, the chance to mingle and network, and most importantly-the learning process; how to hone our craft.

     The Guild wishes to express it's gratitude to Keynote Speaker Patricia Fry along with Guest Presenters, Ken Sherman, Verna Dreisbach, Matt Pizzo, the ubiquitous John Vorhaus, and fellow Alaskan Teeka Ballas for their efforts...and bringing us four consecutive days of sunshine.
