Presidents Autumn Report

14 Oct 2011 2:03 PM | David G. Brown
Leaves and snow will fall, but stock in the Guild is rising. Why, you ask? Because we've been busy building an excellent Board, forming committees, as well as gaining partners (Loussac Library, KACN-TV, ASD). Our 4th Annual Writer's Conference, held in Sept., was a success, thanks to Conf. Chair Bill Columbus and his able committee. They provided a terrific group of Guest Speakers, including our own, Teeka Ballas.  AWG'S Conference, I'm safe to say, holds its own to any held outside...AND it will be even better next year.

By the way KACN-TV(Cable 95 and Satellite 38) will be telecasting the Guild's Monthly Programs at 7:30 on Wed. nites. On Nov 1 we will be sponsoring a Panel Program at the Loussac about the Pros and Cons of Self-Publishing. Justin Durling is Edu. Chair. There's more to come- Poetry Slam at Organic O in Dec. and a possible Young Writers Weekend next spring in collab with the ASD. Keep an eye on our Events calendar. Better yet, become an AWG member.

Lastly, with just a few months remaining as Guild president, I want to thank those that have served and helped. This is a fine organization, and I'm pleased to have shared time with you. Sincerely, David G. Brown, President
